It’s easy to fall in love with them just by looking at their faces, but there actually is more to the story.

Mark Filwett was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1987. He was the first one in his family.  Up to that point, Mark lived the 1980’s & 1990’s On-Air Radio Dream, being terminated from some of the BEST Radio Stations in the country.  His Radio trail ended in 2002 when a co-worker almost killed him — by accident, of course.

Over the years, Mark’s control of his diabetes has been tenuous at best, with his A1C readings between 6.7 and 7.5 percent.

Mark has been married to his beautiful and talented wife Jackie for 25 years. They have one son, Paul, who works for Apple.

His main driving force behind The Diabetic Show project? According to Mark, “It will extend my life by doing this show, and I’m all for cheating death as long as possible, and working with Dobie is also a plus.”

    “EXACTLY WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?”

Now, Dobie Maxwell is a nationally touring standup comedian, veteran morning radio personality and first time author with his new book, “Monkey in the Middle”.

Dobie was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on Father’s Day of 2011, and has been trying to make an insurance claim on his pancreas ever since.  He continues to learn and finds new ways to avoid exercise with frightening regularity. That needs to stop, and he is ready for a positive life change. If Dobie can transform his life, so can ANY listener!
